While I (and AiM) don't recommend it, people often use a microSD card in a high quality SD size adapter, going the other way.
The quality of the adapter is HUGE, because the friction with which the microSD card is held in the adapter directly affects the quality of connection internally.
AiM has noted that some cheap adapters allow the mSD card to vibrate loose enough to corrupt files during recording, hence they put out a bulletin recommending against doing that.

No, because the V2 uses a microSD card and the SmartyCam HD's all use a standard size SD card. The size of the V2 is a dead giveaway. It's SO tiny that a standard card wouldn't be able to fit in it!

Let me check. There are a few settings that are available (in 1080p).

I'm pretty disappointed with my results. I had the unit installed and setup, but perhaps they didn't do a suitable test of the settings. I dug up the manual and note there are many settings that can be tweaked. Can anyone offer up a canned setting that works well in my application? Here is a sample:

Your basic exposure settings are off. It's the first choice in the software. Set the white balance to the area in the frame and it will look like Tom Dean's, which is nice.
I would raise the mounting point, too.

After loading a new configuration in the camera, i'm happy (happier) with the video quality. I may still tweak the settings, just to see how it changes, now that I finally know how to apply the update. I sure wish MoTeC had published a thorough and detailed manual. The quick start guide leaves out a lot of necessary information.
