I'm thinking about buying a new tablet. Ideally, I'd like one that would allow me to insert the CF card from the Smartycam into it and view the .mov file without having to convert the file to another format. Any recommendations? If converting the file is required which converter(s) would work on an Android device?

You can download the VLC app which will play just about any video file out there, definitely plays .mov

So don't limit your tablet choice based on that.
