AiM MXL2, MXS, MXG Wi-Fi Update
Something that has been long awaited - WiFi is not enabled with the latest firmware update for the new dashes. You have to do both the RS3 update and update the firmware in your dash.

Yes with the new Race Studio 3 software and firmware on your MXL2, MXG, or MXS, (both accessed via the Race Studio 3 software) Wi-Fi communication is now available! I am working through the day to complete a new AiM Sports LearnFast video to help our users configure their systems. AiM has been working on this function for some time and it is just another free upgrade to your system, more to come!

For now. GPS Manager does not work.
Just RS3 config and logging file downloads, for now.

A new AiM Sports LearnFast training video is now ready to help you understand the configuration process for WiFi communication with your MXL2, MXG, and MXS AiM Sports data systems. Of course you need to first update your Race Studio 3 software and AiM device firmware. Have fun!

It should be straightforward. The external sensors (assuming you have any, in addition to the connection to the car) unplug from the harness that is part of the MXL and plug into the harness that is part of the MXL2/MXG/MXS. If you have more than four sensors, you will need an additional expansion harness for the new dashes, but all the connections are the same type and are completely compatible. I've done an F Stock Boxster upgrade from an MXL to a MXG and it was sweet! I do think the smaller color dash or the MXL2 would be fine.

I've done some really trick MXS setups for Spec Boxsters. The cars had some neat things in them and the dash setups were great.

Expansion harness (four additional channel inputs to the new dashes) $355
Channel Expansion, Data Hub and the required conversion patch cables are $250, $60 and $39/each, respectively, so the break-even is five or more sensors now on the car.
Pretty much all the setups I sell include the Data Hub, so strong a believer I am in "intelligent video" provided by the SmartyCam, so the break-even would be six on-car analog sensors for the CE and patch cables to offer a cost savings...

Actually, if you don't already have a Data Hub or purchase one with the MXL2/MXS/MXG (required to plug more than one AiM accessory into the dashes, for instance the included antenna AND a SmartyCam), the breakdown would be:
Expansion harness (four additional channel inputs to the new dashes) $355
Channel Expansion, Data Hub and the required conversion patch cables are $250, $60 and $39/each, respectively, so the break-even is five or more sensors now on the car.
