Smarty cam HD will not play on WMP corrumpt?
Pulled a file off the SmartyCam HD and it will not play in Windows media player or VLC. The file shows 2.3 MB of data so clearly it recorded. You get a codec or unsupported file type error. Any suggestions?
This was the last run of the day. All other sessions played fine.

Take a look down the topic list in this section for AVI repair tools.
The index file is damaged and needs to be rebuilt. Sometimes these tools can do that.
Make sure you clean your cards regularly, that they're top of the line class 10's and replace them every year. It's usually because the camera can't write to the card as fast as it wants to and bytes get lost...

Also make sure that your camera has stop recording before you power it down. It shut off while recording, that file seems to get screwed up and won't playback when you attempt to view it. I've had this happen a few times going back to the original SmartyCam. Why does it happen? I don't know. So I always peak at the display to make sure it isn't recording before turning it off. If it is, hit stop and let it save the file before turning it off.
