Not all data channels available in Smartycam HD
Hi everyone, long time lurker here looking for some help.
I have a Solo DL, connected to the CAN bus (not OBD II) in a 997 Turbo, working perfectly. I have recently bought a Smartycam HD and I connect it to the Solo DL. I ran some tests today and noticed that only some of the data channels make it to the Smartycam. I get stuff like RPM, gear #, speed, G-forces. I DO NOT get throttle %, brake switch status, oil temp and a few other channels. The dashboard on the video shows that these channels are not present. I also confirmed this through the live data in Smartymanager 2. Those channels are definitely available on the Solo DL.
Have I missed a configuration step? Should I look on the Solo or Smartycam side for problems?
Thanks much!

Make sure the Solo DL firmware is up to .18 and the camera is up to .36
I would first suck down the configuration of the Solo DL to your laptop, then in the configuration page on the top right, you'll see SmartyCam configuration. Click that, tick the box that says "enable all channels" and then assign each channel from the DL to the SmartyCam channel.
Second step is to connect the camera, pull the configuration into SmartyManager 2 and make sure that every element on the screen correlates to the SmartyCam configuration of the Solo DL.
For instance, if you highlight the brake bar on the SmartyManager2 config and it says "Brake Pressure" and gives a range, the brake bar won't work. Change it to Brake Switch and the value from 0 to 1 or 2 and it WILL work. Ok?

Awesome, thanks much Peter! That was it, I was missing the "Smartycam function setting" step on the Solo DL. Did that, everything works now.
Gotta go ditch the GoPros now...

Nah, don't ditch the go pro, mount it on your helmet, front, or rear bumper.
