AiM Open items for non AiM systems

Edit: Sorry for a bit of a commercial, but I'm excited for the new AiM items coming out!

Something really neat that AiM has done recently is open up their system architecture to support non AiM systems. https://trailbrake.com/shop/aim-open/ The GPS 09 versions are open now and have been very popular. The ACC2 should be available soon and the LCU One S anytime. The Eclipse sensors and pressure sensors are available now.

The Eclipse linear sensors are available with flying leads so you can terminate them with DTM or other connectors. They offer noncontact measurement measurement, fault detection in the voltage outputs, and are a replacement for harder to source linear sensors like the Penny and Guiles, Advanced, etc. https://trailbrake.com/eclipse-linear-sensor-open/

The AiM pressure sensors are a much better value than anything in it's price range. The small size, high operating temps, and great accuracy make them standout from competing sensors. I am also bringing in the -3 AN versions, so they will be easily available and reduce the number of plumbing fittings you need! https://trailbrake.com/open-pressure-sensors-free-ends/

GPS 09c Open and Pro Open offer GPS, Glonass, and Galileo constellations at 25 Hz. They can communicate through RS232, CAN, or AiM CAN and have stick on or roof mount options. They are quickly becoming a favorite GPS of many people for their ease of use and high quality. The Open has all the GPS features https://trailbrake.com/gps09c-open/ while the Pro Open adds the internal IMU data https://trailbrake.com/gps09-c-pro-open/

The ACC2 is a great analog to CAN converter giving you four channels. Fully configurable for 0-5v, 0-12 volt, and thermocouple inputs, it has a ton of wiring option, user configurable CAN output for bus speed, address, and Endianess, it should be available 1st Qtr 2024. I think it will quickly become the easiest and powerful way for people to add analog channels to ECUs and data systems. https://trailbrake.com/acc-2-open/

The LCU One S will add a great Lambda controller in a small form factor for any ECU or data system. With a few other good options out there, I think the ease of configuration and support around the LCU One S will make it popular. Being able to mimic other systems devices will make integration quick and easy! https://trailbrake.com/lcu-one-s-open/

The K8 keypad is going to make keypad integrations WAY easier. The keypad will manage the button state (momentary, toggle, multiposition) so you won't have to do a ton of special CAN polling or ECU work. Now it will just be looking at a CAN message the same as an ECU or anything else. It could even be used with a data system to do things like identify which driver is in the car, ECU mode selection, data marker, etc. I can't wait to get the first of these units in my hands! https://trailbrake.com/k8-keypad/

The last item that is a little more niche is the GT32 steering wheel. I know it will become a popular wheel to use with AiM devices, but I think it will also get used with non-AiM systems a fair amount. With the included buttons and rotary knobs and replaceable grips, I think it will make complex steering wheel wiring much easier for nearly everyone. https://trailbrake.com/gt32-steering-wheel/

Shoot me an email or post here if you have any questions. I left PRI really recharged and ready to tackle 2024. Let me help you get the most from your data system or ECU!

Is the GT32 is designed to pair with a PDM08/32 & fixed display while alleviating some of the non-standard configurations of the SW4 + PDM pairing?

The GT32 will work as a standalone with CAN communication to any system or as a slave to the PDM08/32. You would still need the 5", 6", or 10" display on the PDM if you wanted a display. It would eliminate the extra work and cost of the SW4 w/ the PDMs. The wheel had a great feel and size. I think it will make wiring a wheel into a system a lot easier over the keypad boards and such.

Something different from me - for folks who buy an ACC (currently available) and ACC2 or ACC2 Open when they are available, I'm including an STL file for a tube mount. This will make it super easy to mount the ACC. For folks who don't have a printer, I'll have finished versions soon as well.

Installed with zip ties on a tube.
