AIM start/finish too wide at Barber
My MXL2 sees the start/finish line both on the front straight and the adjacent straight leading into turn 5. So on the first lap it records a time of like 20 seconds which is always the best of the session so lap times are worthless and RS3 sees alternating 20 and 140 second laps throughout the session. SmartyCam sees the same problem. At all times there are 10 satellites visible and position accuracy is under 2 meters, so I don't understand why this is happening. In RS2 I can apply a known map to the affected sessions in the lap manager but RS3 doesn't seem to have that capability. And of course the big problem is no predictive lap times in the car during the session.
I'm going to swap in a newer GPS unit from another car but won't know if I've cured the problem until I visit another track with a configuration like this. Any suggestions about what might be going wrong?

In RS2 you could do a GPS Lap insert. Open the session, click on "Lap Manager" and click on "GPS Lap Insert". This is not possible in RS3.
In your MXL2 configuration file go into "Parameters" and under GPS beacon, reduce the track width. I usually run 59 ft.

I couldn't find track width in the dash menu, but now that I know it's there, I found the parameter in my mxl2 config is 30 meters, which is the distance from the edge of the front straight to the edge of the adjacent straight. So I can tighten it up but I think my GPS definitely has some offset that wasn't there with my old car.
Thanks for the pointers!

Perhaps this will help? In RS3 when analyzing a session you can right-click on the track map panel and select "Recompute Splits with Large Track Width" or "Recompute Splits with Very Large Track Width".

Hmm... I don't see that in the context menu. I am on the latest 3.63.20
BTW, maybe another clue, the affected sessions don't have a little track map in the session list:

Those options do not appear on the affected sessions, only on sessions from other loggers without the problem. Interesting!
Also the track split report window doesn't work. It's alot like in RS2 when you had no track map for a session.

Are you working on the data files or the movie file? I can do a screen share or check the data if you would like some more help with RS3.

Just the data. I can email you the files. I can fix it up in RS2 and I tried exporting from there to a new .xrk but importing into RS3 still has the weird behavior.
Actually here's an attachment, I think

The xrk you posted imports and works fine for me.
In the dash, you need to set the track width narrower. Remember the times on the dash and the in RS3 are calculated individually.
