Default AIM MXL Pista Data Cable/Harness NEEDED - Long Shot

Rennlist,

My old harness is on the fritz and the USB/PC connector on the back became depinned. Any chance anyone would have an old spare parts bin and may have the side connector (mini plug in the first picture below) to USB or an old harness they dont have a need for anymore?

Thanks in advance as I try to keep old bertha running!

You can send the Pista in and they can fix the side plug. That's not a big deal. The AMP connector and harness can probably be repaired too if you wanted to go that way.

Matt,

Thanks for the quick response sir! The side plug works I believe, I just dont have a cable and AIM doesn't think they still stock anything from this generation. On the harness/connector that came depinned, they said they could sell a new harness for a few hundred dollars so hoping someone has a scrap yard with one of these two connectors/cables before I go that route.

If you just need a download cable, this is it https://trailbrake.com/mxl-strada-pi...or-3-5mm-jack/ and I have them in stock. That is super easy.

Depending on the harness part, it would depend what is going on with yours, but I'm guessing your harness could be made to work.

Matt,

Thanks for the link. Can I also make tweaks to the AIM settings/inputs/layout and upload maps, etc using that cable or is that only going to be able to download information from the AIM. I will place an order ASAP if I can use that cable to upload changes as well!

Thanks again,

Drew

PS. I will make an attempt at repairing my main harness this winter after my Nov event at RA. Just wanted to check if someone had a plug/play solution to take care of the above in the meantime. Not an expert at wiring/pinning/etc so I expect some trial and error on that piece!

The plug on the side of the unit will do everything. They originally only came with that cable and most people didn't have the USB bulkhead.

When you get to the harness, the pins and connector are still available.

Ordered and thanks!

As an FYI, AIM REALLY stepped up to get/keep this dash working and went above and beyond for me personally. I will find any opportunity I can to rep their service department.

They’re terrific, both the California and Virginia offices!
