Hi any reasonably priced thoughts on an aftermarket TPMS system that works on cars with no factory TPMS system?

My car doesn't have TPMS and the Motec version is insanely priced to add it. Looking for a good in the wheel sensor kit with a strong display.

So am I - same boat with no factory TPMS. Did you end up having any luck? I would like to see if there is a set with an independent display not requiring integration into another system.

I used these displays for a while with very good results. Worked well, but you need one TPMS set for each wheel set you use. The most expensive part is installing the TPMS sensors on all your wheels:

Thank you, Frank. You are very helpful guy! If you have used them successfully then that is a good enough reference for me. Pretty fair price too.

I confess some ignorance about physical compatibility of the internal sensor / tire valve with my wheels. Is the interface pretty much standard? I am about to have my wheels rebalanced for the season so I can have the sensors/valves installed then. I believe the shop is very knowledgeable about this (Radial Tire in Silver Spring MD). Paul is the guru there and I am sure he will tell me if they can do it properly.

I think I am going ahead with the system that Frank recommended, but I did see another system that also looked promising given its batteryless technology and motorsports pedigree (claimed anyway). But I didn't completely follow the installation text - not sure how much in-car wiring is required. Anybody have experience with it?

I have several sets from Cacagoo. They were very cost-effective. The particular (model number) sets I use are now discontinued, but I like them. I prefer the screw on sensors because of how many wheel sets I have. I can swap wheels at the track, swap the sensors over and good to go. If I had one dedicated wheel set, I would prefer the "installed" sensors.

I also run a set on my trailer - the unit in the cab easily picks up the pressure signals from that distance. Towing a car trailer and knowing that you don't have a tire going down is very comforting.

I'm not sure if that Stack system is even available anymore. Last I knew, Stack didn't really exist.

Colin Harmer and Pegasus are dealers and have stock. I think they were bought out by a bigger company (Autometer) some time ago.

I think I still have a DataPro 2000 CD around somewhere.

Stack was bought out at least 6 years ago and probably more than that. I had talked to Colin back then and systems weren't available and it looked like it was done. They have faded to obscurity since. Though I do like the look of their old analog dashes.

The reason why Colin still carries spares is because it was a series requirement for Grand Am after 2011 and some folks still use them. A lot of vintage GT and prototypes still use the system and manufacturing is located in Illinois.

That is a great recap of the Stack website, but Colin does not have them listed for sale on his website, JEGS says they are unavailable. Even the Stack page on them is not available through the menus and I don't think the Stack website has been update in 8 years.
