Matt, Baron and I both tried to do this with our setups and can't. Can you provide more detail on how to have this recorded on the SmartyCam stream?

The tutorial. I tried a bunch of stuff and this is the best version of this I (and freeride) can come up with. This is for SC HD2.1, it might work for other devices. SC3 has native support for this in RS3, just click the buttons to add it.
The steps.
1. Create a math channel that logs +/- whatever lap you want to use as a reference. Here is mine, I like to have +/- best lap of the session.
2. In the LOGGER SmartyCam stream tab, set one of the available channels to log that math channel. I used brake position.
When you click the arrows far right you get this screen, select the math channel you created in step 1:
3. Save that logger configuration and transmit to the device.
4. Open the SmartyCam configuration and add a long digit to the SC stream and configure it like this:
5. You should see this black box with a number in it on the screen. Since I have settled on this I've added this text box to label what the number is:
Below is a screencap from an actual video that doesn't have the text label. The value at this moment is -311, meaning the current lap is 311 milliseconds (0.311) ahead of the prior best lap of the session.

It's not perfect, but if like me you like to use the changing +/- as a rough guide of what's working and what's not when you are reviewing video and want it done for you, this is pretty good. I don't like that it is in ms, so -1 is -0.001; -10 is 0.010 -100 is -0.100 and 1000 is -1.000 but it works and once it is setup there is no post event processing like using the CSV and RaceRender or what have you. (This is already logged and in the CSV but Aiim hasn't made it available in RS3 without these gymnastics for these devices.)
