Certainly useful.

Are you saying that inherent limitations of the Linux OS hobbles the capabilities of hardware, like the latest UBLOX (https://www.u-blox.com/en/solution/t...on-positioning) solutions?

I certainly don’t work in the development phase but I do have opportunities to validate speed and position across a variety of these receivers monitoring multiple constellations several times a week. Interested, that’s all.

Linux as an OS is (contrary to what a lot of folks would like) is not 'real time' below 1 ms - and I am being generous here. There are plenty of Real Time OS's (RTOS) which can easily support sub 1 microsecond latencies. Important note here: Throughput and Latency are very different.

To be clear: I am NOT saying anything negative about UBLOX or their products or any of these manufacturers. I have used a fair number of UBLOX commercial products in systems I have built, and I actually have some at home... I have also used some of Vbox commercial gear in stuff I have built...
