Default smarty cam stopped recognizing laps at NJMP

it always worked fine and completely automatic but on my last two outings (april and june this year) it recorded sessions without any laptimes........ Any suggestions on how to fix this (and what caused this?)

my next testing session in 9 days and hope to have this working again

Periodically wipe the track database clean and load only the tracks you go to.

Same suggestion. I think yours is connected to a MoTeC system, right?

Might be standalone. Either way, the camera requires a dedicated 05B or 08B antenna, as the GPS info isn’t available on the Bridge.

I guess I have one of those antennas as it has always worked so something must have changed or gotten corrupted.

Download RaceStudio 3 and install.

Connect via USB cable from laptop to SmartyCam under the SD card door.

Turn SmartyCam on.

In the top left, far right side is a radio button with two arrows, when connected it should turn green.

Select connected devices under that row of buttons that is the SmartyCam with serial number.

On the right side of the screen, select Tracks under the camera’s tab, far right.

Select all and press delete.

Open Tracks (radio button, top left of RS3 splash screen)

To the right of All Tracks, there is a “gear” to filter. Click it.

Select North America, Canada and US, car, paved, race tracks, rovals. Should end up with 150-160 tracks.

Select all in the center column of the screen and press Transmit above it right half of the screen.

If you like, and you’ve got the camera and laptop with you, we can do a TeamViewer and fix this in two minutes. Let me know.

Thanks to @Frank 993 C4S for helping me troubleshoot at the NJMP testing day last week and fix this issue. I now know how to fix it for other tracks.

Needed firmware update and the track was missing from the track database (for whatever strange reason).
