Notice I now have a spare power port (red DT connector) in case I need to power a coaches data system..

You know, some unnamed coach I might find on a street corner.. 😉

Nice setup and clean looking car! I'd suggest a Binder Cap for the open data hub and a cover the the Deutsche connector. I don't think they make an empty plug, but you could do a regular one with the sealing pins to keep anything from getting in there.

Hahaha! I have yet to see a Deutsch connector covered in a pro car, up to and including the GT/LM Porsches and LMP cars. Interesting idea, though... I think they (the teams) are too cheap.

Plus, the Data Hub is up off the floor and close to the center of the car. Don't see water rising up to the Hub, but if so, there are MANY more things to worry about if that happens!

I know we have different standards in putting things together. For me, the extra $8 is worth it to ensure that there isn't a problem in the rain, having an off, etc. Water goes everywhere with open windows.

I would say just because you made a mistake for a long time, doesn't mean you have to keep doing it. Nueroplasticity never goes away.

For the OP, I'll post up some shots of the parts to maintain the IP65 rating of the AiM later.

Ya I have them.. The autosport had a shrink sleeve, but I had to cut it off for the new wire and didn't have a spare. All will be sealed and new box with a sealed cover printed.

Oh, and all of the binder connectors are potted in dp270. I would do the autosport too, but I will be taking it back apart to tinker and 80 bucks to replace it each time isn't tenable.

I case people didn't know what the DTM plugs and cap look like.

jscott82 - Post up how everything works when you get out. I'm interested how it turns out.
