Default Smartycam GP - how to mount controller

We have a SmartyCam GP HD, and so far we've just been cable tying the controller to our front rollbar. It's sloppy and looks like garbage. I can't find any mention anywhere of how this is intended to be mounted, even though permanent install seems like the intended purpose.

Any insight (or pics) would be helpful. Thanks

This is the kit for it. https://trailbrake.com/smartycam-gp-...ule-mount-kit/

I think I have just the plate and I know I have extra ball mounts if you are interested. Shoot me an email at matt@trailbrake.net.

Put it inside a radio holder.

@Frank 993 C4S Radio holster is a good idea but feels like only a slight upgrade on the ghetto scale. Granted this car does some LeMons duty too, so we can't get rid of all the ghetto but I think on the expensive electronics I'd like to do it right.

@Matt Romanowski Thanks - don't know how I missed that in my searches. I don't even think Aim had it on their accessories page! You'll notice you just got an order.

Thanks! It's a really nice solution. Sometimes with AiM you have to know what's out there to bet everything. I have spend some time in their "warehouse" just looking at things and soaking in everything they have.

I use 3M Dual Lock and mount them to the tunnel where the driver can see it to make sure it is running while on grid

Pretty slick! I'm in the process of trying to figure out how I'm going to mount mine. I was planning making an aluminum plate bracket with some stand-offs to keep in off the rear bulkhead. Your design has me jealous.

v2 on the way - easier to mount, I’m looking about $30 to $35 per unit if I do a bulk run of 20. Also they will be black vs. white as in the photo.

1.75 inch will be great, no rush you can wait until you get a batch

What size roll-bar did you design for? Although, I don't think the patch cord I have would reach to my roll-bar, so I'd probably have to order another of those.

Btw, which bullet cam did you get, narrow or wide? My kit came with the wide-angle and it seems too wide. I get about 2/3rd interior and 1/3rd out windows in the frame. However, the pictures of the narrow angle I've seen, looks like it is only between the A-pillers, so you don't get much view of driver's hands or a car at your front fender.
