Default AIM MXL2 Lap Timing Problem

Okay, this is almost certainly all my fault, but at Sonoma Raceway, I now never get proper lap times. It seems the lap timer stops/starts at the exit of turn 11 and then again at Start/Finish. I seem to recall me trying to figure out some sectors times and I may have setup a sector in my data to do some analysis. Now, this was a while ago and I didn't think this would affect my future events. But it looks like it is.

How do I fix this? What do I look for?

Thanks!

Default Lap timing

My guess is that you've added a split GPS point into the dash. I'd delete "Sonoma" from the dash and re install from the current database. I have seen this problem when the course has more than one configuration, with different s/f coordinates, but Sonoma doesn't appear to have that choice in the database

I'm with Jerry. If you have a map with a split, it will do what you are describing (why I don't recommend doing it). Delete the one in the dash.

Do I need/want to do anything in RS3? That’s where I would have added the split, right? Won’t the split just get added again?

Deleting the track on your device and then using the track from the database in RS3 should fix it. You can check the track in RS3 to see if it has any splits and remove them if they are there.

The AIM system timed my laps properly this last weekend. Deleting and adding the map fixed the problem. Thanks!

Did it shave off any of those pesky tenths you’ve been trying to get rid of?

No! I am going to blame track conditions at Sears Point for my lap times not being what I expect! The last couple of events have had long enduros which has put a lot of crappy rubber on the track. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it!!
