What is the IAT temperature AIM reports and where is it measured?

I assume the Logger Temp is..uh...at the logger so it measures the inside of the car. Is that correct?

I should(!) but don't always make a record the outside air temperature and am logging for something in AIM to use.

IAT is the air temp in the intake track. The logger temp (cold junction in the AiM dash) is a good approximations of the ambient temp. Exact location of the IAT is dependent on your car and it's influenced by engine bay temps. It's the air temp your engine uses for the ECU and engine management. It's also what all the cold air intakes and the like try to lower.

You can also use weatherunderground.com and look at the historic data. That will give you air temp throughout the day, humidity, wind, etc. It's a great tool for planning too as it will give your historic averages as well.
