Default Aim smarty cam problem

My SC has always been perfect. Just updated the firmware and at first it wouldn't auto start. I went in and set to auto start and auto stop. Now I get the pace lap and then coming up to the key hole at MO the camera shut off. Help!!!!!

Thanks,

Which version of camera? Original, HD, GP?

A couple things to check - make sure it has ~80% battery before starting. Also make sure if it's set to record with the logger, that the speed is above your minimum track speed (same for auto start).

Sounds like the battery is low...

Auto Start speed should be 50 kmh/30 mph, default is logger command.

Auto Stop time should be 1 minute, default is 20 seconds.

Do you have to check the settings after a firmware update?

Typically? No.

Except for added features a few years ago (multiple speed thresholds, metadata on/off, mic levels), it’s not been my experience that fw updates change any function of the camera itself away from the way it’s been working before the fw update. That’s why this does not make sense.

That should be good. I normally use a speed not the threshold.

Nope! With Matt on this one. 30 mph speed to start, one minute delay is plenty.

Wirh Speed, if there is no GPS speed (or it drops out for more than 1 minute), it’ll stop recording.

If Speed is NOT an option for “Auto Start Rec” menu, then the firmware has been backdated to a version previous to most all current (less than two years old) versions. Very, VERY strange, as this has been a feature for all HD SmartyCams for several years.

Your Speed choices include 10/20/30 mph (or kmh equivalent).
