In my opinion, using a heat gun creates more problems with adhesive. But it can be used, yes.

Excellent question.

The best advice I can give is to look at the film and determine if it has a dried out or has a distressed look. If it does, it may become a bear to remove. In it's simplest form, clear bra is high tech plastic. Just like other plastics, it can become brittle. When this happens, your labor investment in removing becomes higher.

The good news is that even if the clear bra looks ratty it will still do a pretty amazing job protecting the paint until it is removed.

I've removed some horrible looking film that came off in tiny pieces and the paint was *perfect* when we had everything off.
