Default Zymol

Seeing as there was only two posts in this section I thought i'd make it worth the click for you.

When I have finished Zymolling my car it looks nearly brand new. Its just a shame it takes about 8 hours to do it properly.

Cheers

Have you tried P-21s car wax? Do you use a sealant? I've used several Zymol wax products and I'm not convinced they're any better than One Grand.

Hi 86944turbo,
Never used P-21s products. I was bought a complete starter kit of Zymol for my bithday that cost about £120 or so. Only used it twice so far so still gots loads of it left so couldn't consider buying anything else at the moment.
There is, as you are probably aware about 4 stages to polishing the car. Wash, lehman clay, high density cleanse and then wax. If you are not careful though you can very easily wash the wax off when you come to cleaning the car within a few weeks so not sure if i'm 100% sold on it but it does look nice when its done.
I think with polish that in most cases something is better than nothing and there are probably many ways to skin a cat when it comes to getting your car shiny.
Cheers

hi dave,
i used to have a 964 as you have, and a 993...and always used the starter kit (carbon-for dark coloured cars) and of course the typical kit for the tyres, wheel cleang-tyre preserve etc...

http://www.zymol.com/complet2.htm

when i bought my 996 C2, i did buy the same day, the complete kit, which comes in a case...as well as some extra microfibre blue polising clothes....

£330 region, did not regret though...

it has to be clear to other members that you do not have to spend 8 hours every time you polish the car.
the procedure: Wash, lehman clay, high density cleanse and then wax, is not being done evey time. should be done according to Zymol twice a year or less, according to usage of car.

polishing with zymol, takes same time as with any other polishing material....

what make zymol different than any other product is that every single product of zymol is 100% natural...

imagine that there is a special cleaning liquid for engines...made out of lemon....!!!!!

dave keep your car at this level of quality, and never sell it. you will regret it...as i did.....

After having tried almost every major and specialist brand, I finally settled on Zymol - and never looked back.

As our climate is pretty hot and humid, I do the whole treatment (Lehm Klay,HD Cleanse and wax) once a year, but give it the occasional wax treatment every 2-3 months - depending on usage. It takes me about 4-5 hours to do the whole car, including detailing.

I use Vintage wax and it gives the paintwork a depth, shine and look unlike anything else I have ever seen - especially similarly priced waxes.

As far as "Strik" -the lemon-based engine cleaner- is concerned - well it works like a miracle - clean and new-look for your engine bay!

Best regards

Kalimera Harri,

use HD-Cleanse with an applicator and buff the area using medium to high pressure - STRAIGHT LINES ONLY, NO CIRCULAR MOTIONS - repeat procedure 2-3 times or untill it's gone. For deeper scratches, use HD-Cleanse more liberally using the above procedure but then leave HD-Cleanse on the paint for a couple of hours and then wipe - the scratch should 'heal'.

Let me know how you get on. I may be coming to Athens in the next 10-12 days, I can bring some HD-Cleanse Professional (slightly more aggressive) with me and we could give it a try.

Best regards

hi emilios,

how easy is to use "stirk" ?
do you need somekind of high pressure hot water?
how do you apply the stuff on the engine?
how long do you have to leave the stuff on the engine.

Hello Harry,

first dilute 1 part of Strik in 2 parts of water, best if you put it in a spray can/bottle and apply to the engine parts you want to clean, leave on for 1-2 minutes and before drying brush with a toothbrush or a small painting brush, then rince with water - it should give your engine a nice sparkling shine. For stubborn oil stains repeat until cleaned.

Best regards

Thats just about the shiniest car Ive ever seen Not usualy a fan of white cars but your 964 looks awsome.

I have got zymol HD clense and titanium wax but I have never used the lehman clay.

Is this easy to use? and does it make a big difference when you use it? shuld I get some?

Sorry for so many questions
