In the 17 months I've had my Targa, the carpet on driver's side that covers the inner rocker area has become matted. See pix. I try to be extremely careful not to drag my feet over the carpet. And, yes, that is black tape to protect the plastic on the door sill.

Anyone have a solution to bringing the carpet back to the original smooth surface?

Steam. Find a detailer in your area who has an injection steamer, such as the VX5000, you can take it over your carpet and it will bring the pile back up.

What part of Florida are you in, I may can recommend someone.
