Question for the Detailing Pros: Razor Cut Repair
So I had Venture Shield installed on my Spyder (the second time... I had them reinstall due to a sloppy job the first time). Upon completion the install looked great. After a few storms and several months, dirt revealed some razor marks from the install. My question is what is the best way to fix these. They appear to only be only on the clear coat. First impulse is to clean them out (not sure what's the best route for this) then fill with clear, wet sand to smooth, then compound, polish then wax. Is this the correct route for fixing this. I want to prevent a respray for a few razor cuts. Going back to the installer won't result in any good as it's been almost a year and I haven't trusted their work this far.
Thanks in advance,
Donavan

How deep are the cuts? If they're very light scratches you can level the paint around the cuts.
To deep clean the custs I would use clay first, that should remove anything and get to the bottom of the cut.
Another approach would be to use a product like langka or dr. colorchip. Apply the clear coat and then follow instructions depending on the product you're using. With Langka you need to let the clear coat dry for 20 minutes and then remove the excess. Apply the clearcoat using a toothpick to maintain light coverage.

Thanks Afshin,
I will try Langka... you use your factory touch up paint for it... right?
The cuts aren't down to the metal, but deep enough that it's not a simple fix. I tried using the Meguiars ScratchX with no luck. The scratch is dark from road grime... Currently the Spyder is in the shop getting some cosmetic work done... I'm getting all my intake grills painted black. I need to try different cleaner waxes and clay to see if that helps.

Since your car is already at the body shop, just have them wetsand and polish the cuts. This should be job left to the pros.
