I'd highly advise against the Makita and DeWalt. They don't make a random orbital polisher and the rotary polishers they do make are a very dangerous for the DIYer as they'll burn the paint if you're not use to using them. They're both excellent tools, but IMHO, for the professional. Stick with the flex or pc if you're a DIYer.

Where do you buy your pads and what kind do you get for the Porter Cable ? I have one but have a hard time finding good pads for it.

These are some of the best pads to use with the latest CCS technology. Expect the pads to last 6-10 uses. The orange and white are the most common used. Orange is a medium pad and the white is a light polishing pad.

I own Makita power tools, but I would not use what they have to offer on my vehicles.
