After detailing cleanup
Kind of a trivial question, but how do you clean applicators after detailing? Wash the microfibers, I suppose, but the applicators are a question.
For example, the SV Cleaner Fluid applicator
Also, how would you clean the wax applicator . . .
Thanks
Jon

I throw these in with my microfibers, they'll last only a dozen washings before you need to buy new ones. New pads are available anywhere and can be purchased in foam or microfiber.

I've been meaning to try the microfiber detergent on the application pads, but I was afraid that the detergent might not be good for the foam pads. It's good to know that this can be done.

Note that you should not wash foam polishing pads which are used with rotary buffers or orbital buffers. Most of these machine foam pads have a glued on velcro backing which will probably be separated in a washing machine.
I personally hand wash the foam machine pads although I hear it's not recommended. No problems yet but I've only washed them a dozen times.

Drifting
For polishing pads on my buffer I just thoroughly rinse them with water, shake out the excess, and since I use a rotary, I'll put the wet pad on, and run it at max speed for a few seconds which throws out most of the remaining water. Then I just let them sit in the sun for about 30 minutes and they're finished drying.
For the wool, I let the polishing/rubbing compound dry out, put the pad on the buffer, run it at about 2k RPM and run a pad spur over the surface.
For waxing I only use brand new MF applicators and towels because they're pretty cheap. After that use, I wash them with regular laundry detergent and more importantly Lestoil, in hot water. Then they go to tire dressing, wheel cleaning duty. If I don't throw them away at that point, I wash again, and use them as shop rags until they're ready for the trash can.
