Default Removing old window tint adhesive

Hi,

I've had my 1996 993 coupe for about 3 1/2 years now and one little annoying thing (besides stone chips in the paint and windshield) is that the rear window has remnants of the tint adhesive that was left by the PO. I've tried several things to get rid of it including vigerous elbow grease and windex. Its not very noticeable but kind of makes the window fog up more easily (or appear to fog) for some reason. I'd love to find something to clean the stuff off once and for all! Any suggestions?

Try rubbing alcohol. It's what I use to get remnants of adhesive off from tint.

actually amonia and water mixed with a razor blade is what most tint shops use. Be carefull on the back window with the razor blade.

Find some one with a steamer, it will come right off & no chance of damage on the glass.

Two great suggestions! Unfortunately the PO did have someone do their handywork with a razorblade and not only did they slice through two of the defroster strips, they also hacked up the seals on the insides of the front door corner glass. Didn't notice it in my pre-purch inspection.
