Spring cleaning day! Water softeners?

Pulled the 951 out of bed to clean her up a bit and put a few miles on the ol' gal.

What is the best product for the most bang for the buck when it comes to water softeners for car washing?

^ +1 CR spotless ^ Costco sometimes has a good sale price on the large rolllng unit ( IIRC DIC-20) and the resin bag refills
