Default How many of you clean behind your wheel spokes

I just saw these wheel woolies that are angled so that you can clean behind your wheel spokes. I have 20" turbo design wheels

I have never cleaned behind my wheel spokes in my life. Do you guys do this? Is there harm that can come of never cleaning behind your wheel spokes? Any tipsmformdoing this if you guys feel this is necessary?

I do, not really any harm, but I think that once a year or so you should just to prevent buildup from happening and then that eventually etching into the clear coat.

I would use a wheel woollie, they even have specific spoke back wheel woolies. Or I would use the wheel mitt from obsessed garage. It is a small little lambskin mitt and you can really clean your entire wheel besides the barrels and lug holes with it.

Almost ditto. I clean the wheel backsides (and just clean them thoroughly overall) when I switch from summer to winter wheels, and vice-versa.

On the Spyder I have easy access to the barrels and behind the spokes (open wheel design) and I clean them after every drive. They still. Look new and I rarely have to pull the wheels to clean.

On the 964 I don’t clean behind the spokes but before I put them on I cleaned them with wheel cleaner and sprayed a heavy coat of Armor All Wheel Protectant. They’re still relatively clean after 1000 miles of driving. I have also noticed the 964 doesn’t generate nearly as much brake dust as the Spyder.

I've found that carnuba-based products just don't last though. The extreme heat seems to just evaporate it off.

Every.
Single.
Time.

I mean, we are already there and we have the tools. So why not spend a few moments more?

About once every 3 months I remove my wheels to wash them. Probably overkill since I have PCCB but I enjoy it. For regular washing I just try to get as much as I can without getting my hand stuck. Probably spend 3 min per wheel tops.
