Hey there! I'm glad you did, too. Nice 997! After the rain finally stops, we will try to get something going. If you haven't already found it, there's a Facebook group page called Porsches and Pancakes. Be sure and request to get in, and you'll see how active we are.

Sigh... my oldest son is leaving for the Navy. He ships out tomorrow. Can't believe I'm at that stage of my life, much less his life. I can only keep my fingers crossed for him and hope that as parents, we raised him well. He actually told me he was nervous.

Last cars and coffee of the year this Saturday! We've got a big group going. Rain or shine, I'm going. I'm looking forward to it.

Good morning!

Installed the Fumoto drain valve in my 997. Now I have to be even more careful how I drove over bumps.

Anyone going to Imola this Saturday? I'm planning on it, so hopefully I'll see some of you guys there. Don't be a stranger!

Anyone have any good local connections for custom engraving? I'm thinking of buying a nice gift for my oldest son who is about to graduate from Navy basic training. I wanted to get either a watch or a kabar knife.

I may soon be joining the Minnesota Porsche group (provided I don't change my mind in the next 2 weeks!) with a 2009 Carrera 4S manual in Aqua Blue Metallic. Who have people found to be good mechanics for servicing their cars? I'd imagine that the Porsche dealerships (Minneapolis, and St Paul) rake you over the coals for anything.

Has anyone used Further Performance in North Minneapolis? I used them for some simple ECU flashing work on my Audi S4 and they seemed very competent (although they seemed to focus more on the VW/Audi scene).

Anyone have any issues driving through the winters in their car? I'd be putting winter tires on the C4S.

Courtney Truck and Tire. They have been racing their own 911 for years. Last time I stopped in they had 4 other 911 race cars in for upgrades and prep. They're also one of the DE inspection shops in the Twin Cities. Give them a call. You won't be disappointed.

Further are all great places for Porsche work. Tristan at Further owns a 987.1 Boxster himself.

Very nice Carrera right there. Are those the factory PCCBs, or are the calipers just painted yellow?
Hit me up on Facebook sometime. Josh Hway

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I had a great weekend. I hope everyone got to spend some quality time somewhere.

I agree with the suggestions about where to take the car. I've been to Imola more times than anywhere else, but I think you should shop around and stick with whoever makes you feel comfortable about the experience.
