I am looking at an old BMW (from a distance) that’s in SW Houston.

I just realized there was that big flood out there in ~2016 and apparently the number of cars affected was enormous.

Any thoughts?

Looks like a clean car from what I can tell.... but now I’m wary.

You’d want to do two things:

1- get a carfax and see where it was registered for that specific time. This is not a 100% guarantee but will be accurate probably 95% of the time
2- PPI. You’d get one anyway with these.

While the floods were bad, there were many areas that did not flood , more on the west side , ie Katy. The thing is, flooded cars are all over the country now so it’s not limited to Houston but they have the most obviously.

I actually went went to Littleton to get mine, you may want to check there. I didn’t do it for flooding, just that is where the right car/deal was. GLWS.
