Not that I didn't know better, but I have confirmed that Bridgestone RE71R's are terrible in the wet. Great in the dry, but noisy as hell on the road. Slightest bit of moisture and the nearly slick tread pattern becomes ice skates (duh). Well, on Saturday I was over at a friend's house for a BBQ. Parked on the grass. It rained. I needed to be towed off his lawn .

Hey guys, this isn't the 996 forum and my build thread is not here. But since we are all local I thought I'd just share incase anyone wants to stop by and see some Porsche blasphemy. Not trying to hack the local social thread so I hope I'm not coming across like that. Just a teaser post for anyone who might be interested.
The swap is getting underway

lol don't get me in trouble man. I don't want to hijack this thread but for the full build its here https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...wide-body.html
The short version.. 3800sc motor from a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Very built and should put down somewhere between 350whp to 400whp. I wont know till I dyno and do the final tune. A friend who did a very similar build for his car(not a Porsche) put down 383whp in his car and my heads are ported all the way through plus I'm adding No2 along with a few other better mods then him so I'm crossing my fingers I put closer to that 400whp when I'm all done.
the best part.. the whole swap will cost me less then $5,500 vs the $20,000 LS swap I've read about everywhere.

I was wondering if you guys made it to Hell. I hadn't really made plans to go, but would have liked to. We were without power for almost all of the weekend. Not that that should have stopped me - just too many other things need my attention right now.
Hope to join up with you guys at another event. For what it's worth, we will be at Nelson Ledges for the 944Fest 8/2-4. This will be the first time since 2005, that we will not be taking a 944. I guess we're all grown up now...
I'll be sure to post dates of our next RallyCross that will be held at our farm (September). You're all invited to stop out; and maybe stick around for beverages after the event. Then there is my Road Rally (Son of Sno*Drift) which is run the second Saturday in January. I select some of the best roads in the same area you guys were (though most of mine are unpaved).
Here's a shot of the last 911 I was fortunate enough to RallyCross - taken at our farm, December 2013:
I did layout the course for the May event in Speedy.
