Default First time p-car owner in Chicagoland

Hello Rennlisters

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Nick and I've just acquired my first Porsche. I've been involved with cars in some fashion for about as long as I can remember. I grew up watching my dad tinker with Toyotas in the 80's and 90's and eventually found my way into the Japanese car tuning scene. I've fiddled around with a few cars including my latest project which was a 609hp Subaru STI that I used as a drag car before making it look fancy and putting it in car shows. I've also participated in Chump/LeMons as well as HPDE and Autocross here and there. Almost 4 years ago, I decided to sell the Subaru and embark on another project. However, while trying to sell it, my wife and I decided to have another baby and so my project car got put on hold. That baby is almost 3 years old now and so I've decided to finally acquire that "poster on my wall when I was a kid" car...which for me was a 993 C4S.

I'm really looking forward to attending a few meets and learning from you all

Here it is. 94k on the odo, well-driven, well-maintained and well....mine
