Default Looking for a GTS or a Turbo

Hey guys,
Long time Porsche guy, finally got the wife to admit that she doesn't need a 3rd row and a Cayenne would suit her . I've been reading about some of the ills the 958's have, and they seem to be manageable financially (not like weeping blocks or other such nonsense). I was really hoping to find a 2017 or 2018 GTS because I don't think the wife will care that much about the 100 extra HP in a turbo, but it seems to be I'm looking for a unicorn in terms of low mileage.

Is the 9Y0 worth spending extra money for, or just keep unicorn hunting? The new electronics inside make me a little nervous. Were there relatively few GTS' sold in 2018 or maybe they're just now starting to come off leases?

Thanks for any insight!

I have a 17 GTS as I wanted air suspension and ventilated seats. I see a few on Autotrader with 20-30k miles.
expect 8-12k miles/year as these cars a daily driven. I have had zero issue with my car and I have 35k miles. If you get one with 21” rims, recommend changing tires to 285/40 for a little more compliant ride.

note, the new Cayenne in S is almost as quick as a 17/18 GTS and those are coming onto the used car market as well.

Actually, the base model 9Y0 cayenne has been tested faster to 60 than both 958 S/GTS, largely attributed to its MUCH faster shifting ZF 8speed transmission. I think it was something like 4.8 seconds. The 9Y0 Cayenne S has been tested as low as 4.2sec to 60, similar to previous gen turbo.

Depending on budget, might be worth it to find a '19+ base or S model instead of 958 S/GTS. Personally, I like the look of the 958 better, especially in GTS guise but it's hard to argue with performance like that. I'm actually waiting for the 9Y0 GTS model to get on the used market in a few years before I upgrade.
