Lightbulb My IPD Plenum Installation Video Turbo 958

So I bite the bullet and blew a bunch of money on this Plenum. The installation initially looked like a walk in the park, however once everything was apart, the bottom hose was impossible to disconnect. I had seen another member report the same and he broke his part in the process. I wish IPD would give you a heads up on this instead of making it look so damn easy in their video! I wasn't about to do that and make the car undriveable for a week so I ordered the part at a premium of $132 shipped and put everything back together

With the new part, installation is 10 minutes literally.
How does it feel? Perhaps better, but it could all be in my head. If it's even 10HP, I'm happy. Looks better, won't ever break and the bolts holding it the throttle body are metal and not plastic like the OEM piece. I don't know what Porsche is doing with all this PLASTIC CRAP!

They also upgraded to aluminum in the 958.2 models - there’s one on eBay right now that says 2017 model

I don't know if it is an upgrade; it's just a different design with some heavy hardware hanging off of it unlike the 958.1, so greater strength is necessary.

Interesting enough, not all 2017 958.2 Turbo's have the metal. Makes no sense to me. Perhaps mid year they switched to metal?

I noticed that too - the big question is what are those lines going in the front of it that neither have other than the metal one

to remove that pipe underneath, you press the red ring into the hose and pull off. It's super easy.

Sounds easier than it is - it tends to get stuck and no real easy way to get some kind of lever in there.

11mm combination wrench works perfectly every time for me: Put the wrench in place on top of the red fitting, press up gently on the entire black fitting from the base/bottom, press down on the wrench to push the red ring downwards while pulling everything downward, and it's off.
