Any downside to just letting the engine run to maintain power during coding?

EDITED: I can no longer recommend this, given that power requirements listed at the jumper terminals under the hood (<= 14.8V and > 50 A).

Here's a good option for you. Used by lots of folks who do this kind of thin a lot...
PMBC Series ADJ - PowerMax Converters
Available at lots of places on the web. 75A or 100A versions available.

Here some pics of a Panamera 10 MY20
Interesting how the innodrive shows up in the radar/navigation option. I wonder what happens if you code the car with ACC to activate innodrive. I'm not sure extra modules besides LKA are needed. Perhaps traffic data.
Same *** option (effectively on/off).
VERKEHRSZEICHENERKENNUNG - TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION

Today mine stopped working. All the lights on the connector and the software itself seems to be fine but when plugging, no joy. I don't know if it's software related with the year change (y2k fir PIWIS?). Anyone else have this issue?

Ok - with some help today from @John Mclane, I went the "Additional menu" -> Maintenance of Vehicle Data route tonight to try and disable Auto Start Stop (after setting my computer's clock back to October 1st 2020). Here's the Before, During, and Still During. I'm letting the car percolate for a bit before I go check for the "after" part.
Before
During the "Maintenance"
Still during...

I got all the way to the "F8 Save" step, hit F8, and data was written. No bongs, no blinking lights, no warnings, no errors. Auto Start/Stop seems to now be set to 7L7, but after shutting down the laptop, locking the car and walking away for an hour, Auto Start/Stop is still functioning. If boot the computer, plug everything back up, and go back into the Addtional menu, that item is still showing 7L7.

Part 2 of my weirdness tonight: In 39.8, I was able to set Mode to E for the first time (I swear I tried before and could not). This puts 39.8 into a mode that's just like 39.7 for the Cayenne. In coding, there is only a "Manual coding without rules" option. There is no regular "Manual coding" option.

Also - after reading your other posts, I neglected to do this step. I gotta learn to read better:
Go back to the initial menu. Choose all modules- programming- automatic programming.
When you say "that's the one you want anyways", I don't understand. Here's why I keep wanting to see a regular "Manual coding" option: If I hook this up to my 2021 Macan, I get a "Manual coding" option. In that option, I can select DME, then Next, then find the Auto Start/Stop (in coding), and change values with a drop-down, and the write those changes. When using "Manual coding with no rules", I can't find a way to actually change a value. So much to learn...
