Default Good to know: Porsche-sponsored Recall Website

I just discovered a Porsche website that identifies "recalls" for a specific VIN. I expected to see a list of mandated recalls like can be found at NHTSA.gov, but to my surprise the site instead identifies and describes Porsche campaigns - not NHTSA recalls - for your VIN. Go here: https://recall.porsche.com/prod/pag/...f/VIN?ReadForm. For my particular car, the site listed the WCK6 software update campaign that I just had installed on my car.

Great find. Thanks. I've been looking for an easy way to look for open campaigns.

Thanks. It shows no recalls for my VIN yet my dealer told me that my VIN requires this WCK6 update.

I will confirm with him again based on this website.

Don't forget that for some reason in some cases you need to enter your VIN 2X before the site finds it in its system. Weird but true.

Seems to be another example of Porsche's buggy software.

Actually, you might need to your VIN more than 2X. Although my Cayenne's VIN worked to pull up a recall on the first try, when I entered my 911's VIN the error page displayed saying I either entered an erroneous VIN or the VIN is not in the system. This happened 4 times. Finally on the 5th try, I was presented with a different page reporting there were no recalls for the car.

Clearly the website was designed by the same crack IT group who designed the electronics for the Cayenne.

Mine came up on the first try. On the second, it didn't find it, LOL. Third was back to working.

Pretty cool to see no open campaigns for my car, which is good considering I don't have it yet. LOL.
