Default Product Suite Debut | 2019+ Porsche Cayenne S Performance Discussion

Does your new Porsche Cayenne look and feel great, but not producing the power or sound you were hoping for? We at Fabspeed recently had the new 3rd generation Porsche Cayenne S 2.9L Twin Turbo in for R&D and we crafted up 3 products to really wake the car up, complemented with our ECU tune, the new Cayenne is a totally different animal. We started with the OEM rear mufflers and found the piping design along with the mufflers to be restrictive and inefficient for the vehicles potential power, so improvement was needed. Our Porsche Cayenne S Valvetronic Exhaust System with the Resonator Bypass X-Pipe provides the best of both worlds, making it the perfect system for those who want to enjoy their Cayenne in both a quiet and calm environment when cruising and a sportier more aggressive tone when you really want to open it up and feel the excitement. Two unique exhaust tones; one exhaust! We saw an increase of 8hp over the OEM exhaust system and dropped 10 pounds off the back end when using our system.

Valvetronic Exhaust System

Exhaust Valves:

OEM automotive applications has led to standard features such as an extremely durable pneumatic actuators, precision flat sealing faces inside the valve, stiffening ribs and high-temperature bearings at both ends of the butterfly spindle.

As manufacturers like Porsche evolve and adapt new technologies into their vehicles, Fabspeed must also keep pace with the changes and innovations that arise with exhaust, intake and tuning. And the latest Porsche models are now utilizing electronic exhaust valve controllers which seems like the standard moving forward. The electronic controllers are directly remounted to the valve body on our exhaust so the functionality is maintained.

Valves Closed: When the valves are closed, the exhaust is routed through the muffler, allowing the exhaust gases to bounce around the open chambers and dissipate. This maintains a volume level similar to stock while slightly increasing overall exhaust tone and reducing weight in the rear of the vehicle.

Valves Open: When the valves are opened, the exhaust takes the path of least resistance, shooting down a straight through stainless steel pipe inside the muffler, bypassing the sound chamber, and out of the vehicle. This shortcut that the valves open up is not perforated or restricted, so the air has only one place to go; right out of your vehicle. This results in a more aggressive and pronounced tone.

Includes Resonator Bypass X-Pipe

Our Valvetronic exhaust includes the Resonator Bypass X-Pipe to make it the perfect fit for a vehicle that has multiple uses. When we combined the Valvetronic Exhaust with the X-Pipe, the cat-back exhaust was complete and exactly what we were looking for. As stated above, with the valves open, our exhaust provides an exhilarating tone with a pleasing level of volume increase in the cabin without being overpowering. Close the valves, and you can enjoy an improvement in exhaust tone and quality without the significant increase in overall volume.

Primary Sport Catalytic Converters:

After we tackled the exhaust we took a look at the Primary OEM catalytic converters and found them to be just as restrictive as we imagined. Porsche is using 700 CPSI catalytic converters which restrict exhaust gas flow and really hinder the performance that these cars are capable of making. We jumped right in and calculated the required Catalytic Converter size the vehicle needed to perform properly and adequately to the specifications and tolerances of the vehicle while reducing back-pressure and increasing the power. We are utilizing our extra large 200 CPSI HJS catalytic converter that flow 93% of a straight pipe with a guaranteed No Check Engine Light to maintain emissions and manufacturer compliance.

Fabspeed Sport Catalytic Converters versus Factory/OEM

Utilizing our Primary Sport Catalytic Converters we were able to save 5 pounds of weight from the car while producing +10 Hp and +14 Tq. A simple and direct bolt-on replacement for the stock OEM ceramic restrictive catalytic converters. The stock catalytic converters cores are about 12” / 307mm long and 700 cell ceramic based which is highly restrictive and power robbing. Fabspeed incorporates CNC machined precision billet stainless steel inlet flanges for maximum flow and precise sealing, accompanied by extra large HJS German Catalytic Converters to ensure durability and longevity. These are the One and Only catalytic converters that should be fitted on cars like this.

Deluxe Quad Style Tips

We at Fabspeed always love to throw a little flair onto these cars as well, our Deluxe Quad Style Tips offer an enhanced look for the rear end of these vehicles. We offer these tips to work with our Valvetronic Exhaust System or the Porsche OEM exhaust system in case you’re only looking to dress up the rear end. We offer the Deluxe Quad Style Tips in 3 amazing options, our Signature Carbon Fiber, Mirror Polished Stainless Steel or Satin Black.

BMC F1 Replacement Air Filters
When trying to squeeze out more power from these cars, introducing a higher flowing air filter is a no brainer. We work with BMC for a high-performance drop-in replacement for the factory air filters; fits the OEM E3 Cayenne S air boxes for improved airflow and performance.

Starting with its outer frame, BMC uses a special soft rubber material made in a process called "full molding", which not only provides a much tighter seal around the filter but also eliminates any potential cracking or breaking of the filter. The filter element itself is made of a washable cotton material that provides nearly 40% greater airflow than paper, enclosed in an alloy mesh screen which helps the filter keep its shape and protects against larger debris and dirt. The increased flow of air through the filter provides a steady stream of clean air to the engine, resulting in much more consistent and efficient power.

Fabspeed ECU Tune

To complete every vehicle package and really utilize the modifications to the Cayenne E3 we did an ECU Tune that improves horsepower, torque, and driving characteristics by reprogramming various sensor inputs, air/fuel ratios, and boost pressure. While a vehicle equipped with bolt-on upgrades will experience maximum gains as a result of the increased efficiency of the engine, great power gains can be made on a completely stock vehicle! This is not a physical/shipped product. This upgrade requires you to send us your ECU for re-programming. You will be emailed a download link with detailed instructions after adding this to your cart and checking out. You must fill out and include a copy of the ECU Information form along with your ECU upon sending it in. Please contact us if you need to send the form in any other manner. Fabspeed Motorsport saves your stock/factory ECU settings so that you can revert your vehicle back to stock settings at any time for a small fee.

Great question. We are currently waiting for a car to come in to do the R&D on the vehicle.

BMC seems to be in the same boat as us. They have not released the air filters yet.

I will send you a PM to get you on the list for when we develop the system.

I too would be interested in a performance upgrade for the base. I owned a 2018 Audi SQ5 and it sure did perform and sound slot better than the Cayenne with the same engine.

I would love to hear some audio clips of the exhaust system (both open and closed valves). Cheers.
