In reading the article it sounds more like the Lambo Urus is sporting Porsche power. The article states that the Porsche Motorsports team built the 4.0 liter that now resides in the Urus.
So if this GT class Cayenne Coupe does materialize, it'll be sporting proper Porsche power, as it should!

I am yet to lock my Cayenne Coupe Turbo build and would absolutely love something with a bit more power.
For people who are not interested in adding an astonishing amount of weight for the hybrid Turbo S model, this would be an amazing option

I have a source that confirmed this Cayenne Coupe GT is happening...holy ****.
Guess I will be trading in my Coupe Turbo for the Coupe GT when it arrives

Even the more recent Turbo S models from the 958.2 gen have fallen a bit short performance-wise against their competitor's top models.

It would be great to see Porsche produce this GT version Cayenne as I believe it's sorely needed. As the performance CUV/SUV market has heated up quite a bit lately, Porsche really needs something like this to stay competitive at the extreme end of this niche market.

What makes everyone think this is not just the next Cayenne coupe GTS model? I don’t think we will see a Cayenne GT5.
The current Cayenne Turbo engines is the same engine found in the Urus, albeit detuned. If history repeats, the GTS model would fit below the Turbo in terms of power. I hope I am wrong.

Porsche just announced Cayenne Coupe S variant according to car and driver. Starting at 89,850 It's a 5,700 up charge over the regular Cayenne S! Whatever. You get a few more things standard but it's essentially the same car but less space.

I wonder where it will price out. If it is too high most will just go to Lambo. Also, keep in mind Audi has the RS Q8 coming ~681hp...

The RSQ8 will be the same theme as the Turbo S E-Hybrid, tons of power with tons of added weight. The electric motor systems in those cars are just too damn heavy.
I've spec'd a Urus and it came to over $260k...I don't think a GT variant of the Cayenne Coupe will get close to that. Gun to my head, I would guess a base price of around $180k, so maybe low $220's spec'd out. It will likely be significantly cheaper, and faster.
The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid doesn't exist yet so there are not stats for it's curb weight but if you use the Panamera for context, the weight difference between the regular Turbo model (4400 lbs) and the Turbos S E Hybrid model (5100 lbs), is a massive 16% increase. Regular Cayenne Coupe Turbo model is 5000 lbs, which means the Cayenne Coupe Turbo S E Hybrid will likely be in the 5700+ lb range...no thanks
That makes the Cayenne GT variant that much more attractive in that it'll likely have 640+ hp with similar or less weight than the standard Turbo model. Knowing Porsche and their GT cars, I bet it goes sub 5000 lbs

Certainly looking forward to seeing official word on it if it materializes.
The previously mentioned Audi RS Q8, while certainly a welcome addition to the Audi lineup, I don't seeing it being in the same 'extreme' SUV performance category as that of a Cayenne Coupe GT variant. And, as has been the case with previous Audi RS vehicles (RSQ5 for instance), will we even see it in the US?!
