I waited 3 years before ordering the first generation Cayenne so that all the bugs got worked out. Boy, was I wrong! The minor stuff gets straightened out in the first 6-12 months. Major issues get addressed in the next mid-cycle update once they have time to show themselves. If you want one, order now as it probably won’t make much of a difference in the long run.

In addition to bugs etc. being corrected, hoping there's a new item or two...

It would be great if PDK were available. Anybody hear that this may be offered?

When I drove the ZF 8-speed on a base Cayenne, I thought it was as good or better than my (7-speed) PDK. That extra gear was noticeable, so the new 8-speed PDK would be great, but so is the remapped ZF imo.

Porsche have noted several times that only the 8 speed will be offered in the Cayenne because of the heavy duty use the vehicle is intended for: towing and offroad capability. It is an SUV after all. As a side note, there have been many side by side comparisons between the Macan and Audi SQ5. Macan uses PDK and the SQ5 uses the ZF. The SQ5 holds its own pretty well against the Macan even though it uses the single turbo and macan GTS with the twin turbo.

Ordered my Cayenne in mid March, and its supposed to be at the dealer by mid May. My dealer informed me over the weekend that my car was 4 days ahead of schedule so it might be here a little sooner but of course getting it on the boat at Emden will be the key.

MY2020 delayed?

My local dealer seems to think 2020 production will be delayed with vehicles not available until very late/end of the year or early next, he is citing what's going on with the 19 Macan's etc. Any truth to this or is he just trying to push me into a 19?

My dealer just texted me and sent me a copy of the delivery schedule of my Cayenne. It is now on the boat and will be in Jacksonville on April 4th with delivery to my dealer by April 14th. He eve gave me tracking info on the ship so I can track it live! This is a full month early! It was originally scheduled for May 17th. Not sure if it means anything for the 2020 models but it seems they do not have a backlog since I'm getting mine a month early. I inquired about the coupe and he said he can not take orders on it yet but thinks delivery for those will not be until they get caught up with the e-hybids. They have 12 hybrids with 8 being owner orders that were put in January but not getting until Sept.

Nice, bet u cant wait.

I need to get clarification on the start of MY 2020 as I may be able to obtain a 19 by late June vs the July production I was originally given by another dealer.
