Right on "porsche creates the problem and sells you a solution". It's so true.

I have this on a 95 S Class. Still works, but known to be problematic on this car. As someone else mentioned - Something else to break. I would pass.

At the urging of my SA I got them on my 2018 Panamera Turbo. It was a great move. My wife is thinking of getting a Cayenne Turbo and we wouldn’t order the car without soft close doors.

Solves 2 pet peeves of mine, 1. Slamming doors 2. Having to close doors twice. One of those things that I could have cared less about before having, and can’t live without once having it.

I like the soft close feature. It does take some time to learn how to best use it.

I like it but, a couple of weeks ago my 13 year old caught a finger in the closing door and it sucked itself shut. I can't forget the shriek! But, luckily it didn't break his finger. He is now reminded daily to push the door closed using the outside handle, not the edge of the door. I really like the option but there is a risk to kids ..
