The largest obstacle seems to be matching wheel offsets so I think you can use the site to cross reference your 2012 Cayenne S available wheel sizes to the various Panamera wheels and find your target wheels.
928,

This is great, many thanks. You've just given me my second project for the weekend .... first I plan to PlastiDip the quad exhaust tips on my PiG, then I'll start cross-referencing the wheel info to kick off my search for the perfect 20" wheels

Won't the heat cook the PlastiDip?

Apparently others have PlastiDipped their exhaust tips and it works great, Gnat on this forum posted a few pics of his that were done ~2 years ago and they're holding up well. Here's the thread over on 6SoeedOnline for reference: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...l#post14117593

I haven't done mine yet, as the only thing I've PlastiDipped is my rear emblem - so far

I had a 2012 Touareg, similar enough to the Cayenne and it fits the same wheels.

275 45 20. First set was the OEM Goodyear LS2. These were decent tires. Worked well in the snow and the rain as well as the dry. They just didn't last long at about 23,000 miles and they are, for some very odd reason, the most expensive replacement out there. Lots don't like the tire at all and I don't know why but many are always down on original fitment tires, as if they are not good enough for them. If they had not been so expensive, something like $320 per tire, I might have gotten another set to replace them.

2nd set were Continental Extreme Contact DSW in the same 275 45 20. These were also excellent tires in all conditions. Quiet and smooth. I was surprised that I only got about 25,000 miles from them as I don't like going to the wear bars, especially for the snow we get, and when the tires were new, and even worn, they did a good enough job in the snow for me up here in MA.

I have about 4,000 miles as does my wife, on the same 275 45 20 Pirelli Scorpion Verde Plus and again, they have been excellent tires. I have the set of 20" Pikes Peaks from my 2012 Touareg that has the tires and when I get around to getting a new set of TPMS for them, and having the wheels refinished, I plan on putting them onto my 2016 CD.

I may wear out the 19" Design II wheels that have the Michelin Latitude Tour's on them as the Latitudes are also great tires and I know they last a LONG time as the wife had them on a 2006 Rav 4 for many miles some years back. I know they perform very well in all conditions, just that they cost a bit more come replacement time. I also thought about making them into winter-wheels but I'm not much a fan of having to swap out wheels every spring and fall when I've never had an issue with winter driving.

The best part about having an extra set of tires/wheels for both our vehicles is that when the time does come for new tires, it is a LOT more convenient to drop the wheels off at the tire place and then come back whenever I want to pick them up and not having to wait 1 1/2-2 hours waiting to have tires taken off and installed.

I don't mind swapping the wheels out and making sure the morons don't round off the locking key or over torquing the lug bolts as the Pep Boys that I had install the last set of tires rounded the locking lug bolt key, probably by using the impact wrench to either install or remove the key and I had to get creative with getting the key off but thankfully, I got it.

Touareg and Cayenne wheels are interchangeable as they both use a 5x130 bolt pattern, most wheels are interchangeable I should say as there are some exceptions but very rare. I think the Audi Q7 is also part of the family and their wheels work too as they do have some nice wheels for the Q7. I'm not hot on any of the 958.2 wheels and actually think that the Design II's are the best, just that they are not a 20".

Mine came with the 20" Eagle LS2 tires also. I swapped them with a set of factory 19" Pirelli Scorpions for the winter. I was much more pleased with the 19" winter setup for snow. But in warmer conditions the ***-end will snap out if I gun it around a corner. LS2 are dead flat steady. Chalk it up to winter compound and narrower tire patch, so it's not unexpected.

I've gotten used to the easier cleaning of the 19" platinum (dark gray) Sport Classic rims. Going back to the 20" black RS Spyders will certainly increase the wheel cleaning time. But Sport Classics apparently only come in gray for 19" or 21" and I don't want the low-profile look (or issues). That and the 20" RS in black are a GTS exclusive, apparently.

When I had my wife's Mini tires put on last winter I used a service that came out to the house. I plan on having them back soon to swap both the Mini and the Cayenne.

'14 958 Base Platinum Ed
20" Spyder wheels

OEM tires: Continentals: ~20000. Ride: Ok. Handling: Ok. Treadwear: Average. Had to replace them even though they could have lasted 1000-2000 more miles, but had a bubble on one of the sidewalls from a sewer drain that was popping up in a parking lot. Considering the wear rate and overall very average ride quality, I would never buy them.

Replacement tires: Pirelli Scorpion Verde. Ride: Much smoother and quieter than OEM. Treadwear: TBD but so far so good after 10K miles, they have a treadwear of 560 so crossing my fingers. Handling: decent but I dont push the piggie in the corners (its a family car) but nothing worse than the Contis. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again. But I may upgrade to 21" or 22" on my next set

Just for a reference point. I run Toyo Proxes ST2, in 22's and got about 50k out of the last set.

https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKU971G219WW.html

I was able to find a set of these; to follow up on North Shores question - any real or perceived problem with running these on our Cayenne? Understanding that the staggered setup is theoretically not the best (I had it on my 955 Turbo), and the curb weight of the Panamera S is greater than my base, is there any issues to mounting these or similar Panamera staggered wheel sets?

TIA!

I have 3 sets of wheels and tires for my cayenne. Never thought I'd justify 3 sets for one cars but it makes total sense and I'm glad I do.

I have an all terrain setup (20" wheel 31" tire) for overlanding and driving on beaches here on long island, a snow setup (20" wheel 31" tire) for driving to upstate new york and vermont for snowboarding in the dead of winter, and I have a high performance setup (21" wheel 29" tire ) because the higher profile all terrain, and snow tires handle like crap and make me sad when I go fast haha.

Any of them repurposed Panny wheels? Or staggered?

No sir, prefer square setups on AWD cars.

Hmm, definitely seems to be the preference except for the very high performance AWDs - CTTS, 4S, etc - and frankly having come from a staggered set, I prefer square as well!

That said I now have a staggered set of wheels and before I toss them on, just wanted to see if there was something Obvious I’m totally missing...

Like the look of them, and they should fill up the wheel arches a little better than the OEM 18” ers

So I think this suggests that running the staggered with the Panamera 19" turbo wheels will work on our AWD's. Now I'm kind of curious how rotationally different my set up was on the 955 CTT. I used this website (https://tiresize.com/comparison/) to run the above analysis.

Given the transfer case issues, I'd be hesitant to go screwing around with deviating from the factory's recommended configurations.
