2014 958 with 20116 Cayenne Wheels, TPMS won't Sync?
I have a 2014 Cayenne Base, and just purchased OEM 21" wheels/tires/TPMS which were taken off a 2016 model.
They look amazing! However, I can't get the TPMS system to recognize the new sensors. I've tried 4 times without success. Anyway to make these work?
Please tell me I don't need to buy new sensors, these are maybe 1 year old!
Thank you!

Sensors are good for 8 years. I have TPMS sensors for winter and summer tires. When I resync in the spring I usually have to drive a while for it to work. Also have to iD what type of tires are on the car.
Mind you this is for a Macan but I assume it's the same as the cayenne in just had as a loaner was the same

Peter - have you driven it? It probably takes about 4-5 miles for mine to recognize the new sensors and what wheel positions they're in when I do my winter-spring and fall-winter snow/summer swap. I'm using 2015 sensors on a 2011 CTT for the winter rubber. 2011 sensors for the summer (21") tires. I guess they could have changed them for 2016 but I can't imagine why..

I agree with this. I bought 2013 wheels and tpms and I have a 2016. They were working when pulled but never synced with my car.
PS. I still have the 2013 tpms and am on the lookout for 2016.

Ugh, that's so annoying since these are brand new and only had 800 miles on them! I had done some research and it looks like the manufacturers changed, although I don't understand why it wouldn't connect.
I paid a premium for these wheels/tires/tpms thinking it would be an easy swap.
Anyone know where I can pickup TPMS sensors for a good price? Tigger1197-- Do you want to swap lol. Are the batteries replaceable on these things?

Depending on who made the TPMS sensors - some of them are programmable, and a tire dealer can do it with a magic-wand sort of device that talks to them when they are mounted in the rim. Worth checking, perhaps with a Porsche dealer.

I tried everything to get mine to work before I realized Porsche changed the part number.
I would be up for a swap. Not sure on the logistics since both of our sets are currently mounted. The batteries last 5-7 years as far as im told and they aren't replaceable. I have these on my snow tires.
PM me if you are interested.

In the BMW world there is (was for the e9x 3 series anyway) a module you can get which will lie to the TPMS system so you don't need the sensors in the wheels. Don't suppose there is anything like that for us?

Thanks everyone on this thread for the help! I've purchased new TPMS sensors and had them swapped out. The only hiccup was that the new TPMS's valve stem wouldn't seat properly against the 21" wheels. So new stems had to be installed.
I now have 2016 TPMS sensors for sale. Only 800 miles on them. Thanks everyone!
