I've taken a closer look at the plastic lift socket assemblies on my recently acquired 2014 CD. I initially thought that the weight would have to be carried from the top surface inside the socket, but I'm now thinking that there is enough flat area around the socket to accommodate the 3.25" x 4.75" lift pads on my BendPak MD-6XP. Can anyone confirm that these plastic lift socket assemblies can be used in this manner?

For the tops of my jack stands, I use hockey pucks that sit flat against only the flat areas around the socket, and don't insert anything into the recessed area of the socket. I have not had any issues with this method.
