Default Offroad conversion for 2012 Cayenne S

ok, so i want a fun semi-agressive looking offload car. Think Defender 90 without the giant tires and can't decide whether to sell my Cayenne (JUST did a major service...) or just make it look a bit more aggressive. I have a 2012 Cayenne S on coil-overs. Raise it and add some bigger off-road tires? I would like to take her for some (nothing serious) cruising in the sand and maybe some light off roading

thoughts?

I would do the Cayenne as you don't often see these in that mode. However, the defender is one tough truck and a real off road vehicle.

Tough choice.

I simply got a second set of wheels with AT tires on 18" rims. It turns heads both on and off road when I have them on.

btw: If you are in NJ you only about a day's drive from our next off road event. Details here: https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...l#post13591442

My idea is to make a Cayenne V6 (290HP) "Transandina" because i live in Peru and we have the andes mountain range across the country.
So, i started with a set BRAID Raid wheels and a set of BF Goodrich T/A KO 2. (265/65R17).
Im trying to find a lift kit because my Cayenne came with steel suspension.

LOVE the look of that. I'm knew to changing wheels that aren't OEM. What do I need to look for if i'm getting 17" on my Cayenne?

The OEM wheels in 17" or 18" will be just fine.

I prefer the 17 inches look because you can fit tires with more "tire wall".

The Transsyberia came with 18" inches and BF Goodrich and it looks great also.

About the lift kits its kinda impossible to find one on a decent price. The only alternative solution that i found is some suspension spacers.

Just cruising this forum.
I too have thought about a Macho Cayenne.
Wife's 2o11 eX5 has been in the shop for 76 days this year.
Getting a little exhausted and annoyed.
Love the Transsyberian, but I'm not in that snack bracket.
Do watch the BF Goodrich T/A KO 2's. I forget which one. One of them is job rated with extra steel belts. Great for puncture resistance on the job site, but heavy. If you hate driving on the heavy run flat tire??? 33lbs vs 51 in an 18".
My o2 Suburban, stopped as quickly as a Bull on ice.

This is stickied now?

Kinda interesting. Anyone tried the Spaccer lift... spacers?

Because $150/set x 3 sets x 2 axles totaling close to $900 seems friggin' ridiculous, especially for how little you'd be getting...

For MUCH less I could design and have my own machined out, if there's any interest. I'm considering doing a small lift to mine when I have to do the shocks come next spring, pending how it does at the dunes and trails this year.

Also, FWIW, I highly doubt paqueras is at all concerned with unsprung rotational mass if they went with BRAID wheels.... those suckers are HEAVY. I had great luck with the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs I had on my F-150. Awesome traction in snow and mud, and grabbed ice well enough that my ABS almost never kicked in. If they make them in a size that will fit my stock wheels, I'll likely buy a set of those for winter/dirty fun.

Default Overlanding P!

Lots of Overlanding gear available to prep for travel. Not much into looking aggressive - just what we need for coloring outside those pesky yellow & white lines. The only thing we would do differently is to get rid of the Yakima roof racks as they are not robust enough for the way we travel. Looking to get either Front Runner or Rhino racks as replacements. For tires we have used General Grabber AT2s on 18" rims and Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8s for the past five years. Both have taken us everywhere from the hot Chihuahuan desert to north of the Arctic Circle in the winter. see - 'Meet Otis' at
