Cayenne Diesel oil change frequency

Cayenne Diesel oil change frequency
I have a 14' Diesel with 27,000 miles on the clock. I got an oil change ~1000 miles ago and now I am getting service indicators telling my an oil change is due in 500 miles. How often does everyone else change their oil? I am used to every 5,000 miles.

5000 miles is the directive from Porsche.
VWs and Audis with the same motor have a 10k interval. The Cayenne also had a 10k interval initially, but it was dropped to 5k I believe before the first ones were actually delivered (e.g. my 13's manual says 10k in it, but the computer is set to 5k).
There have been a few used oil analysis's done which seem to indicate that 7k is about the limit of the oil holding up.

Is it the oil service message that comes up or is it the intermediate service message? Could be you are in the message window for the service but not the oil change, although the service would (could) include an oil change. I bet you could have them deduct the oil change cost from their intermediate service if you go that route.
If it is truly the oil change indicator you may have a problem. Go back and have the reset it again and if it comes back before 5000 miles then you may need further repairs. I'd be interested to hear what you find out.

It is an oil change message that counts down the miles until change as I drive. I'll have my Indy reset and then see what happens.
