What's the need to keep dividing up the forums? I think it makes it far less useful when searching for things across 3 different forums.

Be careful handling #2 "drain plug tube". It has to come from Germany if you need one.

It's a pretty robust little part, but I have a spare if anyone needs one.

Would this be the correct transmission fluid, filter, and gasket kit to purchase for the ATF change?

https://www.blauparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=F2A1044-C

Seems to have the correct part number for the fluid and claims to fit all models of 958

It isn't being "divided" - the thread would be COPIED to the DIY forum, and continue to also exist here. If anything - that should make it easier to find.

And your post and this reply post are two that will have to be removed if this ever is to become a DIY. Just sayin..

According to on-line Porsche dealer parts catalogs - yes. As do ALL 958 Cayenne automatics.

There is a "new" thread in the DIY forum - in collaboration with "r553" - this thread has been condensed a bit to remove extraneous or unneeded postings and copied into a new stickied thread.

The DIY can be found at: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...nt-thread.html

Comments on it should be directed to me via PM.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Thanks to R553 - the ATF thread in the DIY forum now has a chart listing some compatible transmission oils.

It can be seen at: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...atf-fluid.html

The Ravenol doesn't specifically list the Cayenne on the label, but if you go to the Revenol website and use their tool to search for compatible fluids - the T-WS Lifetime fluid is spec'd for the Cayenne 8 speed transmission.

I received the ATF gaskets, filter, fill tube and o-rings today from Sonnen. The filter is Japanese Roki co brand with a P/N of PA66 - GF33.

Here are photos of the parts.

ATF Filter with Porsche PN

ATF Filter Manufacturers PN

Pan Gasket

ATF filter o-ring, drain plug and drain plug gasket

Oil tube ( bought as a spare )

How would I remove this plastic cover that's underneath the radiator area? This is the cover that's in front of the one that's removed for engine oil and differential fluid changes. The goal is to remove this to gain access to the transmission cooler so I can drain the fluid out of the lines and cooler, per alldatadiy instructions; unfortunately, the manual doesn't go over how to remove that bottom cover

I'm getting ready to do the ATF fluid/filter change on my CS w/103K on it in a few weeks. In searching around I ran across this DIY over on the VWVortex forum which has quite a bit of information which also applies here as it's also got the fill tube which needs to be removed and temps monitored while setting the correct level.

Hello. I keep reading about instructions for changing the trans fluid and calling it a flush. Any idea how to get the oil out of the torque converter? The cooler line method?
