Default PPI recommendation - Irvine, CA or Modesto, CA

Hi all,

Looking for a PPI recommendation in either / near:
- Irvine, CA; or
- Modesto, CA

For a 2011 - 2014 Cayenne.

I've searched, but couldn't find anything in the Cayenne forum and a couple that were more track / older car specialists.

Thanks!

Hergesheimer's in Lake Forest (5-10 minutes from Irvine). They are great. They did the PPI on my 993 and service my 993, 997 and 958. This is one of the "go to" shops in OC for Porsche service.

I'll second Hergesheimer's. I had them PPI my 955CTT, very thorough and supplied a nicely formated report.

Since you're looking at 958's - I'm moving this to the 958 forum. Perhaps more people there have had PPI's done and can advise you.

Shop labor around here for the best shops is about 150/hr, the dealers are well over 200. A proper PPI with road test is 2-3 hours of work. So, it's not out of bounds. Last PPI I had I paid over $500.

Hergesheimer is a good shop

OP you can try BBI Autosport (they know 958, they service mine).

Was that an insinuation that we are not good or honest? From a phone call?

I thought that was more or less the ongoing PPI rate for Porsche cars. These cars are not something you can take to your corner quicklube for a checkup

Check out Glenn Yee Motorsports in San Dimas, about 30 mins from Irvine. It's a Porsche specialty shop, and Glenn knows these cars inside and out, worth the drive.

I have spent 650.00 on a PPI for my 930.

450.00 is about average without leakdown.

450.00 is a great price is you want it done correctly.

I would like to boldly quote RAudi Driver:

That statement alone tells me that a Porsche Cayenne may not be the car for you if you don't have deep pockets. These cars aren't for the faint of heart. A cayenne or any newer Porsche is not a good first car to wrench on. If you are still set on a Cayenne, and I can fully understand that, get one with a CPO warranty or a new one.

GLWS
That being said, I don't have deep pockets but a good PPI will always put my mind at ease. Personally, I would fork out the extra cash for a great PPI from a reputable Porsche service shop. The Porsche dealership I use is Beverly Hills Porsche in Santa Monica. They have always been great and I plan on using them for years to come.

@SubzeroX: We have a Porsche tech in the LA area who could travel out to the car for a full PPI. Please let us know if we can help. Thanks!
