What is the Ideal 18" Wheel Size for Off-Road Tires on a Cayenne Diesel?
Hello All,
I just picked up a Cayenne Diesel with standard suspension (non-air ride).
I will be downsizing the stock 19"s to 18"s and looking to put some all-terrain tires on it.
What is the recommended widths and offset for running 18"s with all-terrain tires?
Thanks!

I just had my first offroading adventure on sunday and the cayenne did great. I happen to have carbon ceramic brakes so the smallest wheel I can run is 20". I run 265/50r20 tires and they just barely fit, I think they end up being like 30.6" in diameter. For 18" your best best would be 265/60r18. It ends up being only 3mm taller than my setup so clearance shouldnt be an issue, unless you have air and you always drive around in level 1. I drive around in "Normal" mode or level 2 now, the rubbing was very very slight, but with height adjustable airride why would I enable rubbing at all? Otherwise you should be good to go.

Whoops, didnt did the suspension comment. I think you should be fine for the 265/60r18 tires. The non airride Cayennes ride higher than "level 1" as far as I know, so you should be okay.

I'm actually looking for help on ideal 18" wheel specs (i.e. widths and off-sets)

Thank you for the feedback on the tires. I will keep those in mind. I don't have intentions of modifying the suspension at the moment (don't want to risk Porsche voiding any future warranty claims that may arise).

I'm going with the 255/55R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 2016 base Cayenne with non-air suspension. While I'm not looking to do anything extreme, I wanted the normal tire size to provide me more wheel travel without hitting fender wells like I would get on the taller tire profiles. FWIW, I'm using the stock 18" Porsche wheels.

I was able to fit 255/70/18s on the 958.2 with no rubbing. Had to adjust the caster a bit so it didn’t rub on the front plastic bits at full lock. Don’t recall the specific offset of the wheel but they are OEM wheels off of a 955 Turbo.

If anyone is interested in getting a set of 18" genuine Porsche rims, I have a set for sale in the Rennlist marketplace... with 255/55 tires. They didn't fit on my CTT, due to larger brake rotors in the front, so I had to end up buying a set of 19" rims. For sure higher profile tires will be better offroad, or on any bumpy terrain. Keep your 21" or 22" rims for street performance tires.
