No, it just seems to happen every once in a while. We are taking the car in for the diesel recall this Friday, so I will try and remember to ask them about it.

BilldyD - moving this thread over to the 958 subsection of the forum since all diesels in the US are 958's.. hang on.

Our 2013 has had a rattle vibration since new. Dealer can't fix it. Drives me crazy but I don't DD the car. I guess it's "normal"?

I was just thinking today, on my way back from the ski hill in my 2003 Dodge Ram Cummins that it has no rattles, vibrations or other odd noises. OK, check that... the large center console does have a very quiet, occasional rattle at the latch. But no dash rattles, no window or door rattles, no seat squeaks, nada.

So, a 15 year old (by model year), 30K pickup truck built by Dodge is better in this respect than a 75K high end Porsche (2 of them, actually, since both mine have odd noises/vibrations).

That's just wrong.

did you ever have the fix done yet? The vibrations get worse after the fix. Lmk

I have a 2014 CD and also get the vibration during idle in the steering column, started in the glove box and when I put my elbow on the arm rest. I think it's just plastic touching plastic, especially with the arm rest.

I've always had a vibration in the steering wheel. My $19K Mazda 3 doesn't have steering wheel vibration.

Just got a call from the dealer, they said they feel the bad vibration at idle and acknowledge it, but that some Cayennes develope this vibrations and some don’t BUT THERE IS NO FIX????
How can this be possible on an almost 80k car in near mint condition. How can there be no fix? I if some don’t vibrate, there has to be a reason, and a corresponding fix

I had that problem, but the dealer fixed it. I also test drove a CD about a month ago that was smooth as glass. The dealership that fixed mine said it is pretty common that fuel lines get a little loose, and start vibrating against something, also exhaust vibration, a manifold not tight, etc. Mine was at idle, and some of it sounded like it was in the dash. It only vibrated once the car got hot, or the ambient temp was high. Now it's gone...it was a fuel line.

Thanks for the reply. I had a long talk with the service manager today and they are going to try one more time to find the vibration. I will mention the fuel line thanks!!

Have they checked engine mounts? I remember old V6 TDI cars had mounts with adjustable softness depending o RPM.

According to them they checked engine mounts, trans mounts, computers, driveshaft, steering column, and everything is fine and that the amount of vibration I’m experiencing is within Normal operation parameters for this car and there’s nothing to fix. After pleading some more they kept the car overnight to recheck Tomorrow. I can’t live with a car that vibrates this much at idle as I’m a daily traffic driver. So I’m praying I don’t have to take a bath and trade back the car if they can’t do something.
