Tune Box and Tune Pedal. Should not affect performance unless you race cars for a living.

Since the diesels are the 958 series only - that's where this thread is being moved to..

Hang on.. move in progress.

It is the only one that I can find that is sold stateside. Would love to hear from anyone that has used a chip on a US car.

thanks is advance.
I bought their Throttle Booster (XLR)...very solid product and very happy with it! Next is to buy their RS. I tried blue spark and had to send back. Looks like their unit is exact same product...

Default Race Chip tune

Race chip for the CD.

2015 CD.
i just bought a 2015 CD and already have the tune enroute from 🇩🇪 via UPS. It will fly with me to Atlanta when I pick it up on Saturday to drive home. I plan on driving it stock to just inside Florida at the half way point, top it off, check mileage, then install the RC unit. I will report back Saturday evening on this tune.

Well, it took a while but I did see improvement on times with the tune installed. The Race Chip tune adds some power as reflected in 0-60 times using the Dash Command app. I can see a .2 to .3 time improvement with the tune vs. stock from 0-60mph. And this was after a good dozen or so runs on about an 87 degree day here in south Florida. I was trying different maps and ended up on map 6 starting at zero (no tuning). The CD runs perfect with the tune, no issues at all, I think it is worth some more power at the price they sell it for. After 2 weeks of driving to work and doing tons of 0-60 pulls I finally put some diesel in at 605 miles with 119 left in range. I averaged 25.5 after putting in 23.7 gallons. Rick.

Very cool! I likely right behind you picking this up. Did your dealer care about this in relation to your warranty?

I just bought it, so no dealership visits yet, but I don’t expect any issues from what others have said on this forum. Let me know how your tune turns out. I believe due to the “fix”, we are losing some benefits of tuning. But I am still learning about the CD so I am new. Rick.

Did you guys run any performance tests ? Like 0-60mph or 1/4 mile ?

I just measured 6.791s 0-100km/h on my chipped 3.0 TDI. I have power braked the car. The car did 305 crank hp on Maha dyno. The factory specs for my 2012 245hp model are 7.8s 0-100km/h, so we are talking about 1s less thanks to the new tune.

I have used car scanner app paired with WiFi OBD2 dongle.

Yes, the RC tune box is removable but if they want to look in your ECU they will be able to tell if it had a tune. That is a great time for sure 0-60, I have done a best of 7.5 only. That is about a stock time I guess, but I still love my CD!
