New 2016 CS - How do I drive this thing?
Picked up a 2016 CS (will post pics soon), black on black on black, 4300 miles, absolutely flawless and magnificent... BUT....
I can't figure out how to drive this thing, wondering if I'm missing something, or there's something wrong? Here's the deal...
At a standing start, if I mash the pedal, it launches like a scalded cat and keeps on pulling - that's all good.
However, just pulling away from a stop light normally, or turning out into traffic, I get a good pull from 1st and 2nd gear, but when it hits 3rd, it just lags like grandmas Volvo.
I can't figure it out - I feel like there should be steady power delivery through the gears - obviously when the turbos kick in at higher revs, you would expect a kick, but just normal around town driving is becoming an adventure. Surely this is not the design?
Can a few others with CS's pipe in with their feedback, do you feel like your vehicle lags significantly under normal acceleration when you hit 3rd and 4th gear?

There is a thread where others have this lag issue. Let me try to find it.

Three Wheelin'
With the Cayenne 201 S, I always drive it in Sport mode, which cured the lag issue. In my GTS, I drive it in normal but one flick of the paddles is normally enough to get it going but it has more power and torque than the S. I always have a finger on the left paddle so I am ready for a downshift.
So, just always push the Sport button when you start up.
Just be glad it is not a BMW, even worse on those cars. Damn EPA I Say.

I agree that the sport mode somewhat reduces the impact of the lag, but it also makes ithe throttle super jumpy and gives a more abrupt ride, not the best when you’re on a Sunday cruise to Target.
manual shifting certainly solves the problem, because you can keep the revs up...

2016 CS Update
Guys, wanted to bump this to the top in case anyone else is experiencing the issue.
Finally took it to Walter's Porsche and the service manager told me that two other CS's had been in this year for similar issues, and that a software update would fix the problem.
They updated it, and he was right, it's like a new car. Strong pull in all the gears, and it just take off now.
SO, anyone with a Cayenne experiencing a loss of turbo in middle gears, make sure you get it to the dealer for a software update - it was the magic bullet.
