Default What is correct boost pressure for a 2015 3.6L Cayenne GTS / S?

Hi,

I have felt for sometime that my Ceyenne GTS is not pulling away like it used to, timing the 0-60 it is indeed nearly 0.75s slower than it should be (5.1s)

Looking at the boost guage, and how the car feels, this is what I found, (under full throttle, Spots Plus mode on, great road surface, traction control Off)

1st Gear : Feels 'gritty', max PSI reached 12PSI
2nd Gear : Feels 'gritty', max PSI reached 12PSI
3rd Gear : Feels smooth, max PSI reached 18PSI
4th Gear : Feels smoth, max PSI reached 18PSI
5th Gear : Feels smoth, max PSI reached 18PSI

Can anyone tell me if the significantly lower boost pressures in the first two gears are correct?
Is these gears feeling quite 'gritty' rather than super smooth correct?

Would be interested in learning the spec on this as well. My S regularly shows 13psi when driven hard in upper gears. I've never done a full on sport-plus launch to see what happens. 18psi is pretty healthy

I've seen up to 13 in normal driving and agree 18 is pretty impressive. Would like to see what Porsche mapped into the DME since there is so much confusion over this issue and dealers seem pretty clueless.

I have a 2015 CS. I see normally about 18 to 19psi in the lower gears when hitting the gas hard. Even in non sport mode. My issue is having anything above 10-12psi at higher gears. Doing some research, and having a few dealer fixes- I got the update for a less sensitive knock sensor, so it allows for the higher boost. I was losing boost going up hills in the past in higher gears. I also suspect some TC issues, but the dealer claims it’s ok so far, but I’ve had some hard shifts, phantom ‘bumps’ while stopped. Another item for more boost- is the diverter valve. This is like a recirculated bov, and if it’s having probs, you can lose boost. The stock one is plastic, the older turbo cars/Cayenne’s sometimes replace them for stock or aftermarket so boost doesn’t leak.

I tried a pretty hard launch in manual mode and was surprised to see 17psi (and possibly 18?) up through a few gears (2nd through 5th?). Ran out of road.

Seems it pulls harder on a full power launch (and with your foot through that detent in the last inch of travel) vs leaning on it at highway speeds.
